“……What on earth are you doing?”
“Mwyaaaaat!”
What Leonard saw was Yellian flailing about in the toilet. He wondered why on earth this tiny bean of a creature had fallen in there and was causing such a commotion, but he didn’t really want to know. The more he knew, the more frustrated he’d feel.
“Get out.”
“Get me out……nyanyang.”
Yellian, who had been asking Leonard to get it out after he coldly told it to come out, quickly added a ‘nyanyang’ to the end of its plea.
Adding just a ‘nyang’ to the end of a word didn’t make it cat language, but right now, Yellian didn’t have the mental capacity to care about such details.
Flailing in the toilet had already drained a significant amount of energy, and more than anything, its self-loathing had reached its peak.
Me! In a toilet! Falling in!
The sequence of events was as follows. Yellian, with a human mind, couldn’t bring itself to accept the fact that it had to urinate in sand like cats do. So, after much deliberation, it decided to use the toilet like a human.
However, Yellian hadn’t yet adapted to its cat body. As soon as it jumped onto the slick rim of the toilet, it lost its balance and fell straight into the bowl.
Once it fell into the toilet, its mental state completely collapsed. It knew it had to get out, but not only was it unaccustomed to its cat body, its mind was shattered, and the porcelain toilet was slippery all around.
In the end, Yellian couldn’t get out of the toilet on its own and had no choice but to wail for Leonard’s help.
Leonard, who had no way of knowing the full story, was simply dumbfounded.
How could this blasted feline humanoid keep causing trouble without a break? Was it really a feline humanoid, considering how unbelievably dumb it seemed?
He couldn’t help but have doubts, though the veterinarian surely wouldn’t have spoken without evidence. When talking about a rare being like a feline humanoid, they wouldn’t have carelessly mentioned it-especially not to a lord’s household-without some level of certainty.
So, for now, he had to treat this unbelievably stupid furball as a feline humanoid. That meant he couldn’t just let it drown in the toilet…….
“Ha…….”
Leonard rubbed his face with dry hands and let out a deep sigh.
As he tried to rescue the feline humanoid stuck in the toilet, his head told him he had to save it, but his heart didn’t want to lift a single finger.
Once again, the feline humanoid was being a feline humanoid, but right now, Leonard didn’t care about any of that.
“Stay still, you’re splashing water.”
“Myat…….”
At his cold words, Yellian wilted and became docile. Above it, Leonard hesitated with his hand. Though he knew he needed to pull Yellian out quickly, he couldn’t muster the courage to stick his hand into the toilet.
In the end, he was just about to turn around and call for Elton.
“Mumyaaaaang!”
As if sensing Leonard’s intentions, Yellian cried out desperately.
Finally, Leonard cautiously reached his hand into the toilet. Fortunately, Yellian wasn’t completely submerged in the water, and its face was above the surface, so he could grab it by the scruff of its neck. Of course…… it was damp.
“……This is driving me insane.”
Leonard carefully held Yellian by the scruff with his thumb and index finger to minimize contact. Yellian dangled quietly from Leonard’s hand as it was moved.
Leonard didn’t want to hold Yellian for long, so he dropped it with a splash into the nearest footbath. Once again submerged in water, Yellian flailed about.
“Puaaaaaek!”
“Puaek?”
“Puaaaeng…….”
At this point, it was hard to tell where human speech ended and cat speech began, but Yellian tried its best to stay in character as a cat.
“Wash yourself.”
“Mya?”
Are you seriously telling me to do that on my own? Me, a cat?
Yellian retorted, utterly dumbfounded. Of course, it could probably wash itself if it tried, but that was beyond what a typical cat could do.
So instead of washing itself, Yellian stared at Leonard with a look of disbelief.
Seeing that insolent gaze, Leonard let out a long sigh and spoke in a cold voice, packing his true feelings into his words.
“I really hate you.”
“Mya.”
Same here, buddy.
For the first time, the hearts of two beings……no, one human and one cat, were in sync.
Though Leonard didn’t hide his displeasure, he rolled up his sleeves and poured in whatever scented oils he could grab. The footbath became a chaotic mix of floral and fruity fragrances.
“Myaaat!”
Yellian felt like it was dying. With a cat’s heightened sense of smell, the dozens of scents piercing its nose made its head hurt so much it felt like it would split open.
As Yellian instinctively tried to escape from the torment, Leonard hurriedly grabbed it.
“Let go!”
“Let go?”
“Let go-nyanyang-nyang!”
Leonard made a strange expression, but since washing a cat that had fallen into a toilet was more urgent, he clenched his jaw and began scrubbing Yellian vigorously.
“Myaaaaat!”
Yellian naturally wailed in protest at the rough handling, but Leonard’s heart wasn’t generous enough to care about such complaints.
Just thinking about the fact that this feline humanoid had been in a toilet made him want to cut off his own wrist for washing it. Suppressing the urge, he focused on scrubbing it as if washing laundry.
Yellian, soaked in water, looked pitiful and ugly. Yes, like most cats, Yellian was all fur. When its soft, fluffy, light beige fur got completely wet, it looked like some alien creature had appeared.
Fortunately, Yellian couldn’t see itself, but Leonard had a clear view of its appearance.
“And to top it all off, you’re ugly…….”
Leonard muttered to himself with a tone of lament, his voice laced with anger and betrayal.
Of course, he had mostly tolerated it because it was a feline humanoid, but its cute appearance had played a small part too. Yet even that was just fur, and the sense of betrayal washed over him.
“Myak?!”
Even in its drowned-rat state, Yellian somehow picked up on being called ugly and protested. Naturally, it had no effect.
Leonard scrubbed and scrubbed, so focused on washing the cat that beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
Meanwhile, Yellian’s sense of smell had long since gone numb. No longer tormented, Yellian gave up and fully entrusted its body to Leonard.
Leonard had only ever been bathed by others in his life; he never imagined he’d be washing someone else. Especially not a feline humanoid that had fallen into a toilet. He couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of what he was doing.
“Yellian, listen carefully. I’ll make you pay double for putting me through this.”
“Myaa.”
You sure expect a lot from a cat.
Yellian half-opened its eyes and meowed half-heartedly. It thought this way because it didn’t know Leonard was aware it was a feline humanoid.
Finally, Yellian’s bath was over. Leonard lifted the overly fragrant Yellian out of the footbath, water dripping everywhere.
Though it was Leonard’s first time washing a cat, he instinctively knew he couldn’t just roughly dry off a creature dripping with water like this.
So, Leonard held Yellian in one arm while using his other hand to squeeze the water out of its four legs, body, and tail.
“Myaaak!”
Since it was far from a gentle or kind touch, Yellian cried out in protest. But Leonard wasn’t the type to stop just because of that, so Yellian had to squirm and meow discontentedly for a while.
In the meantime, much of the water on Yellian’s body was removed. Leonard grabbed several fluffy towels and wrapped Yellian in them. Though he didn’t know how to dry it properly, he rubbed it down roughly with force.
“Myat! Myat!”
Yellian screeched irritably, hating the clumsy drying process. Startled by the ear-piercing cries, Leonard’s touch softened a bit, but to Yellian, it made no difference.
Even so, thanks to being wiped down with multiple towels, a lot of the water was removed. Yellian’s body was still far from fluffy, but from Leonard’s perspective, he had done all he could.
“Go.”
“Mya!”
As soon as Leonard let go, Yellian meowed irritably and dashed out of the bathroom. The mutually unsatisfactory bath finally came to an end.
